I hate this feeling of BLAH that I am in right now. The end of the school year is the craziest time of the year. This is a small example of what I've been up to (AKA- my list of excuses as to why I suck so hardcore right now):
- 2 TAKS tests
- Play Day (think field day, but a competition against other 4th graders at different schools)
- 3 days at camp
- Field trip to the local library/eat at CiCi's
- Field Day
- Meetings galore
- Book Count
- Clean classrooms and move all furniture to middle of room
- Never ending checklist of To-Dos in order to get to leave for the summer
- Study for the ELA 4-8 test
- Take and PASS that test on Thursday
- My husband has got a new job that requires CRAZY amounts of hours he has to put in
- I have 3 kids (Yeah, I know, I've had them all along, but now as a semi-single mother, I feel all 3 so much more)
- The hubs sometimes works from home. This should be helpful, right? Um. No. My dining room table has turned into the most disorganized chaotic horrible mess of a desk. Ugh.
- Speaking of my house: It is a disaster. I swear there are goblins that creep up out from under the house and destroy it while I'm not looking. (Oh, wait. Those would be my 3 kids)
- My oldest is about to graduate from Kindergarten
- We have a dance recital for my two older ones next weekend
- And I'm a backstage mom
So now that I've filled my blog up with excuses, I am making a vow to be back after next week. It will be summer. I WILL have more writing time. More blogging time. More tweeting time. More reading time. More critiquing time. More writer's workshop time. More ME time. I will demand it.
This whole not writing thing is terribly depressing and I'm in this nasty, killer, sludgy slime of disgustingness that I can't wait to get out of.
SEVEN days and counting and I'll Be Baaaaaaaaaaaack. I know you'll be counting down the days, hours, and minutes to my return.

ophmigosh! If I never have to do an end of the school year again I will be so frateful to life. I HATE that time when it's crazy chaos, kids are ready for summer... no teaching AT ALL is getting done--you're all just ready to GET OUT OF THAT ROOM!
But then you take some random field trip to GET OUT OF THAT ROOM and all you want to do is take the crazy monkies BACK to the room!
Just think... summer is almost here, and it's just you and the kids... chillin'

Ah! Jamie, yes!!! It's freakin' ridiculous. Teaching = pointless. We already turned in all our books. Grades are already due. WHAT THE HECK am I supposed to do with these kids. My fix = READ all day, every day! :)
DL: HA! You are counting!! YAY. I am loved. And missed. :)
You can do it! (Yeah, I'm thinking of the Adam Sandler voice!)
OMG, no wonder you've been MIA around here! I don't know how you're doing it all. I know all about the semi-single mother thing (my hubs works full-time and farms part-time, so I'm always on mom duty). It makes it almost impossible to squeeze any "me" time in, doesn't it? At least you only have one more week and then you're freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:)
Counting the days with you! You make me question my need to finish my teaching degree lol
Hang in there! See you in a week!
Melissa - Heehee. You didn't even have to say Adam Sandler. I knew EXACTLY what you were talking about! :)
ChristaCarol - Um, that was only the beginning. Would you like for me to give you the full list? Nah. I'm just kidding. Teaching is great, just stressful and insane at times. :)
I know how you feel! Ìt`s crazy. I`m a teacher too. We have a big week of provincial testing this week - with high heat & humidity - sigh. I`ll probably have 12 hour days all week.
I haven`t started report cards yet - and I have to do mine, plus the extra 9 kids I`ve been taking to prep for the testing. Then all the end of the year fun.
Thank goodness I do love my job! I love the kids, but this time of year is always complete and total chaos!
Ahhhh.... I am SO glad my school year is over! Of course, I am heading to another job (hopefully) within the next week, but it'll be part-time and certainly allow for a bit more writing. Coherent words are darn near impossible to produce the last month of school, aren't they? Hoping things settle down for you soon! And I love the new template- SO cute! :-)
The blogging world will be happy to have you back! :D
And OMG, EVIL SLIME AAARGH!
Dude, I'm exhausted after reading that post. How are you still standing at the end of a day?
I've got four classes and three days of finals left. Time to pack up my room.
summer is almost here, and it's just you and the kid
